September 11, 12 and 13
NC Mtn State Fair had a Junior Show and an Open Show. Because Freedom Farms does not yet have a Junior Team assembled, the youth of BeaverTree Farm handled our animals for us in the Junior Show and did a great job. It was their first AOB show so they took some knocks that one does not get when having the luxury of showing against only Dexters. We will post their placements when I find the Jr Program which is buried somewhere in our truck!
The Open show was even worse than an AOB show as it was an ALL BREED show. So whereas the Angus, Herefords, Shorthorns etc. had their own show in Juniors EVERYONE who had a registered cow showed against each other in the All Breed Show.

The GREAT NEWS is that the NC Mountain State Fair WILL be having a DEXTER SHOW at the 2011 Fair!
