ALL Freedom Farms Animals ( "FF" herd designation) are Non Carriers of PHA. We offer both Chondro Negative (long legged) and Chondro Positive (short legged) Dexters for sale. We at Freedom Farms feel they are of equal merit and many people like the shorter, thicker stature of the Chondro carriers. Your breeding program should ALWAYS be well thought out and planned to develop what YOU feel is the perfect Dexter. Herd and breeding management is important regardless whether you have long or short Dexters.
A 25% non refundable deposit will take the animal(s) you want off the active market (we take paypal for deposits). Balance is due upon collection or delivery of the animal(s). Should something catastrophic happen to the animal while under deposit - deposit WILL be returned. If the buyer changes their mind on purchase of the animal, the deposit will NOT be returned.
ALL Freedom Farms (FF) animals AND ALL animals sold by Freedom Farms are tested or parentage obligated (from testing) to be NON Carriers of PHA. Parties purchasing BRED non FF cows are guaranteed that the bull the non FF cow is bred to IS PHA FREE - so ALL calves will be guaranteed to be PHA free.
Our Dexter Beef sells for $4.00 per pound hanging weight for "Prime" animals which are between the ages of 14 and 26 months old. This beef should be tender and flavorful and we recommend you have it cut however you would like as the animal is still in it's prime.

A cull is a Dexter that has been deemed unsuitable to continue to breed. This can be based on an attitude/behavior evaluation, an udder or foot injury (or any injury or weakness that may take high maintenance to keep the animal pain free and productive), multiple difficult calvings, breeding back late or failure to concieve in a timely manner or may be a bull whose genetics are no longer needed.
WE SELL THIS BEEF FOR $3.50 per pound hanging weight if the animal is over 29 months but less than 60 months. If the Dexter is over 60 months the beef is a bargain at only $3.00 per pound hanging weight.

Sadie X Honors - First calf heifer. Due late January/early February. 50% chance of being polled, will be Non PHA and Non Chondro. Could be black, red or dun.

Bruce is a black dehorned steer. He will be weaned in late January - early February. Can be ready a little earlier if requested. This steer is not yet halter broken but is tattooed, tagged and will be vaccinated prior to delivery/pick up. The sooner he is under deposit the less his cost as we will begin to handle him the longer he stays here.

.38 is a black dehorned steer being offered like Bruce above - (not broke yet). .38 is tattooed, tagged, castrated, has had tetanus shot and will be fully vaccinated prior to transfer. He should make a great project for someone - or just a good beef animal to raise to fill your freezer. Just like Bruce, we take deposits on animals prior to weaning - the sooner (on steers) the less work we put into them so the bigger savings for you.

Chad is a very sweet, calm polled black steer who will make an excellent show prospect steer or beef steer. A pleasure to work with and likes human attention.
Chad comes with a brand new halter/lead rope and his price includes registration and transfer.
He has been vaccinated, weaned and will get a booster on 1/15/12 and will be ready to go to a new home.
BEEF - We will have 1 side of prime age beef for sale. Beef will be available approx. 2-3 weeks after order. You can choose cuts. We expect the hanging weight of this steer to be between 200 and 250 per side. Our beef is $4 a lb hanging weight. We take Paypal for beef.

2012 is here and we have a current herd of approx 80 head of Dexters. We are expecting over 50 calves this year. In addition to having a percentage of these calves available for sale- in the Spring (March/April) we will be offering many 2 year old open, freshened females that will be ready to breed. We have all 3 colors that we will be offering this way. Mainly these are breeding stock females without a show or training history - but all dehorned or polled, vaccinated and healthy.

Will be Black or Red. * Female calf will probably NOT be offered for sale but Jill may be and she is a milking prospect. This calf may be bottle raised, so if you are looking for a possible milk cow in full milk - get on our call list!
Whisper X Freedom - A nice polled dun cow out of Colorado. Due mid March. Very likely will be polled, will be PHA and may be short or long. Will be Dun or Black or possibly red (Whisper has not been red factor tested yet).
Bliss X Honors - One of my very favorite cows. Due late March. 50% chance of being polled, will be Non Chondro and Non PHA. Could be red, black or dun.
May X Honors - A nice polled black cow. Due very late March(30th). Very likely will be polled, will be PHA and Chondro free. Could be any color.
